Case Study | Arvesta
Analysing the employee experience of early career talent
Sector: Agriculture/Horticulture
Arvesta is Belgium’s largest full-service partner for farmers and horticulturists: its network includes 200 shops. Arvesta also encompasses over 40 strong brands and employs about 2,300 people.
“Employee experience is never easy to measure, but for early career talent, it is especially difficult. We already invest a lot in helping our young employees thrive, but we were interested in seeing more data and getting new perspectives on what shapes their EX. Welliba’s science and solution helps us understand some new ideas to take the current listening approaches to a different level”

Context
Arvesta’s focus for the future is innovation, sustainability and a “stronger together” mindset. This also involves an internal culture transformation in which young graduates as potential future leaders symbolise “one culture, one team.”
Arvesta would like to gain insight into the motives of its young talent to further improve the development and support they offer, with the aim of retaining its young talent and enabling them to grow and shape Arvesta’s future.
Welliba’s solution to predict and improve EX:
Welliba EX Snapshot™
Welliba’s research has uncovered the intrinsic drivers of EX (self-insight) and mapped external contextual boosters and blockers (context insight) that influence EX.
Welliba’s predictive EX Snapshot maps all critical and personal factors in less than 10 minutes to reveal a broad image of what EX looks like at a certain point in time. The data is aggregated and displayed in Welliba Dashboard™.
“By partnering with Welliba, we were able to scientifically measure the employee experience of our early career talent and gather predictive measures of engagement, performance, flight risk and absenteeism. The data on their EX and what drives it was eye-opening: it allowed us to understand what is already working well, and to plan what else we can do to support our early career talent.”

Welliba insights and benchmarks
The employees from the early career talent group completed the Welliba EX Snapshot™. Results showed that:
- The average score on the Welliba Index was 110. This is about 20% higher than the global benchmark for this group (91). Only one participant’s EX scored below the global average.
- The risk of turnover was extremely low, and the risk of absenteeism was very low. The feeling of being able to grow and build a meaningful career was remarkably high.
- There is clearly a high degree of trust and employees act as “promoters” of Arvesta.
- Extra development opportunities may be useful to help some of the young employees remain calm and focused in challenging situations.
- Participant data shows that more focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is likely to further increase their EX.
